writers' tools

Everyone needs a little help getting things done, here at Zokutou, we're willing to help. So within this page, you'll find a set of different tools to help with your writing.

PDF-Quick

If you need to produce PDF files, but don't have access to something that prints to this format, you can use Zokutou's PDF-Quick program to layout your story into a file. Guests have a 100,000 character limit, but Zokutou members have full access.

word count

You can use this as a quick way to count up the words in a piece you have written - and as an added bonus, you can then use this count directly into the word meter below.

advanced word analysis

If you want a little more of a breakdown of your work than a simple count, you can use this to get a better understanding of what makes up your piece.

word meter

A word meter that allows you to input your current word count and choose any target you want. It will then generate a nice percentage completed bar, with the html text that you can cut and paste into your own webpages.

random word generator

You need a word? We've got a word.

writing report card (.xls file)

We've taken the original Eric Benson's NaNoWriMo excel report card, and we've overhauled, updated and renewed it. Now you can use it over any timespan, for any wordcount, and you can even include previous amounts which you've already written.

emergency novel helper (.doc)

Because some people wanted it, here's an Anglified version of the emergency novel matrix, ready to print out and distribute to your friends and family.
